Tips or Tricks for an beginning amature photographer? Escpically how to mount/display photos?
i have recently discovered my love of photography. I decided to take it up as a hobby since i really don't have one. Are there any tips/tricks/words of advice or wisdome anyone would care to share? I really need to now a way to mount or display my photography, for two reasons: 1) I want to capture each moment i've taken and display them on my bedroom walls and 2) i'm using my mom's camra. Its not really a photographic camera, but i've been told the soonest i can get a real one is my birthday which is two months away, so i'm stuck using her's until then. I'm not really sure of hte brand...i think its and hd video recorder...thanks for the help!
I've read that it's good to use frames of varying widths and lengths when mounting a display in your home (rather than using a stale grid-like pattern, though in some cases you can break this rule). Or for example vary the amount of mat board to picture size ratio. Before you start nailing holes to the wall, arrange them and re-arrange them on the floor and see which combination/composition you like the best.
As far as photography tips, I highly recommend borrowing a book from the library or buying one on general photography (where you can learn the basic rules of good photography). Unless you know about composition, exposure, etc, I'm afraid the pictures from your new camera will not be much better than the ones taken with your mom's (except for maybe the clarity and resolution).
