What's a camcorder sensor? Glitch in my video camera.?
I'm kind of confused. I have a JVC GRD30u Mini-Dv camcorder and I'm having this error. 9 out of 10 times it keeps having this "Condensation, Operation Paused. Please Wait" problem. I live in a house with normal temperature, so something has went wrong. This camera is about 4-6 years old. I heard I could clean out the sensor, but I don't know what that is or the steps of cleaning it our taking it out. A paid repair is out of the question. This camera is useless and has anyways been unreliable. I get little use out of it. Any suggestions?
The temperature of your home will not have as much of an effect on condensation as the humidity will. If you store the camera in the open - especially near a humidifier or your kitchen, restroom, or anywhere in your basement - you would be more likely to have this problem than if you stored the camera in its case somewhere dry.
The camera is rather old. If you've always had problems with this you probably should have had it checked out while it was still under warranty. I think going to a trained technician would be the best bet right now, but as you mentioned that's out of the question I suppose there isn't any way to know if there really is a problem with the sensor or something else.
It unfortunately may be time to get a new camcorder. You can generally find a good manufacturer refurbished one for the same price (or even less) than the cost of fixing your existing camera. I buy all my electronics from http://www.eCost.com and have been 100% satisfied with everything I received.
