A look at what is currently available on eBay

How to record film audio if camcorder has no audio input?
I have the Sony Handycam MiniDV and it has no Audio/Mic input. I also have a shotgun microphone. Is there any way I can Record audio without hooking it up to the camera? Maybe hooking the Microphone to a computer with Audacity and then syncing it with the Video? Or perhaps you have better ideas? Thanks.
Doing the computer connection to the mic and Audacity is one way - Using a USB interface between the computer and the mic would be a good idea. Presonus and M-audio make those interfaces - there are many others.
Better yet would be getting an audio "field recorder" like those from Zoom, M-Audio, Marantz, Tascam, Edirol, Fostex and many others.
We don't know if your shotgun mic uses an XLR or 1/8" (3.5mm) connector - that is important to know when shopping for the field recorder.
