you can't "film" anything with a video camera. you can only record, tape and shoot things with a video camera.

"expensive" is a completely relative term. you can shoot a movie on an iphone for a couple hundred bucks, you can shoot a movie on a panasonic hvx for a couple thousand or you can keep going up in price to the hundred thousands if you want. there are literally thousands, maybe millions of video cameras out there that you could use. pretty much any of them can be made compatible with a mac. you need to be more specific.

i imagine that the first thing you need to do is study video by taking a class and/or doing a lot of reading. if you take a class, you won't have to buy a camera, you can use the school's.

or, if you don't care to educate yourself it really won't matter what random camera you pick up for whatever you can afford at the local electronics store.
