Video Camera Protective Case?
I have a Canon FS30 video camcorder which I am planning on using in places where it might get hit. I just got the camera, and like most people that want to keep their things in good condition, do not want my camera to get broken or ruined. Is there a case that I can get/make that will protect the camera during use?
When I mean hit, just kind of bumped around with a pretty nice bit of force (kind of like a pebble being thrown maybe). I want to do this while the camera is in use. Budget is not really my concern at the moment, since I am just looking for them, so anything is fine really.

I have not seen any "hard" cases for a camcorder while in use (waterproof cases don't count because they are not made to be hit). There are some soft cases - generally not made for consumer camcorders... PortaBrace and a few others make them for prosumer and pro cams.
Uisng a decent waterproof (hard) housing as an example, how are you expecting the camcorder controls to be accessed? Would the lens be covered or not? How will audio get to the camcorder's built-in mics without changing the recorded audio characteristics? What happens when you need to change memory cards or batteries? How are the camcorder's mic jack, USB port, power port, AV-out port and headphone jack accessed through the case/housing wall? Even if the case/housing is not waterproof, a lot of design issues come into play.
If the housing is more expensive than the camcorder, is that OK?
