tft lcd monitor widescreen monitor 19 inch: bios and boot up screen boots up in 4/3 mode?
hi i have just bought a brand new system which has a lcd tft 19 inch widescreen monitor i have set the display to 1440 by 900 and on the desktop screen is perfect. however when booting up the bios foxcom screen and windows vista boot screen boots up the screen is at 4/3 and not using the widescreen that is set in vista. i have messed around with displays and cant get round this have the lastest 8800 gts drivers installed and cant see any options anywhere to solve this. my monitor has a auto adapt feature but this dosent seem to detect the 1440 by 900 display when booting up i have to change the display settings when playing games but this isnt a problem. im not sure if this problem can be solved as the graphics settings dont get applied till the desktop is booted up i think please please can someone help me thanks in advance

This is normal. Underneath all the wizbang new technology is a very simple BIOS with low resolution graphics and simple I/O functions... And that's a good thing. The less drivers and software you have running at this point, the better off you are since you want to minimize the chances of any kind of software crash at the basic hardware level.
